Trip length: 7+ days
- Cotopaxi undoubtedly stands as one of the world's most stunning mountains, being both the second highest peak in Ecuador and the highest active volcano globally
- The climb offers a captivating experience with intricate crevasse patterns and thrilling snow bridge crossings over deep crevasses
- Thanks to its strategic geographical location, Cotopaxi boasts more clear days than any other lofty mountain in Ecuador
- Rest in a cozy refugio and embark on your summit endeavor without the need for camping.
Trip length: 7+ days
- Cayambe stands as a colossal glaciated extinct volcano, ranking as the third highest mountain in Ecuador
- Situated approximately 68 km North East of Quito, it marks the highest point on the earth's surface where the Equator line directly intersects
- Navigating a gaping bergschrund poses a challenge for climbers, adding an exciting element to the journey
- The glaciers of Cayambe, easily accessible from a comfortable refugio, serve as an exceptional location for our Mountaineering School
Climb length: 7+ days
- Antisana, the fourth highest mountain in Ecuador, is situated in a remote location and offers captivating climbing opportunities
- Unlike other prominent mountains, Antisana lacks a refuge, necessitating the establishment of a base camp
- Despite its awe-inspiring beauty and the exceptional climbing experience it offers, Antisana is seldom ascended
- This can be attributed to two factors, firstly the mountain's moderate technical difficulty requires climbers to possess glacier climbing skills, as there are no straightforward routes; secondly access to the surrounding area of the mountain is restricted in order to safeguard the wildlife and environment
Climb Legth: 2-3 days
Available as an add-on to one of the other glaciaed peaks that are required for acclimitization
- Chimborazo stands as the tallest peak in Ecuador
- Interestingly, when measured from the Earth's center, it holds this title as being the mountain closest to the sun due to the Earth's oblate shape (even closer than Mount Everest!)
- As of 2017, the traditional route on Chimborazo, starting from the hut, is no longer in use due to safety concerns
- Instead, climbers now opt for the western ridge route, commencing from a high camp at 5,350m/17,500 ft
- This change has significantly increased the success rate on Chimborazo, as the summit for our clients is now achieved in a much shorter time frame.
